Roland Tan Keng Hock
Director, Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic
Mr Roland Tan is the Director of Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic, a position he has held since 2004. He joined the Singapore Polytechnic in 1982. Previously, he had served as a Second Mate with Reefer Lines Pte Ltd and Maersk (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
He sits on the Board of the Association of Maritime Education and Training Institute for Asia & Pacific. He is also involved in the Singapore Maritime Officers’ Union, Singapore Shipping Association, Korea-Singapore Logistics Council and Chua Chor Teck Memorial Fund Trustee Committee.
Mr Tan graduated with a Second Mate Certificate of Competency (Foreign-Going) in 1980. He also holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Maritime Commerce from University of Wales Institute of Science & Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Lancaster University, UK.
