Mr Lam Yi Young
Board Member
Mr Lam Yi Young is Chief Executive of the Maritime
and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), where he is
tasked with developing and promoting Singapore as a
premier hub port and an international maritime centre,
and with advancing and safeguarding Singapore's
strategic maritime interests.
Prior to his appointment in MPA in May 2009, Yi Young was Director
Manpower in the Ministry of Defence where he was responsible for the
full spectrum of human resource policies and services for both National
Servicemen and employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore
Armed Forces.
Since joining the Singapore Civil Service in 1996, Yi Young has also
served as an engineer in the Ministry of Defence, as Assistant Director in
charge of budget policy in the Ministry of Finance and as Deputy
Director of the Personnel Division in the Ministry of Education.
Yi Young also sits on the boards of CapitaCommercial Trust
Management Limited, Singapore Maritime Foundation, Singapore
Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, Singapore Maritime Institute, Tropical
Marine Science Institute, Centre for Maritime Studies and Dover Park
Hospice.
Yi Young has a Master of Arts in Engineering from the University of
Cambridge and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard
University. He is married and has a daughter and a son.
