The International Trading Institute at Singapore Management University (ITI@SMU) and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (Singapore Branch) (ICS) have entered into a partnership to jointly develop and deliver shipping related courses with the objective of raising professional standards across the shipping industry.

The ICS-ITI Professional Shipping Programme and ICS-ITI Foundation Shipping Programme offer comprehensive education in the shipping sector and are modelled after the ICS distance learning Tutorship Programme which leads to certification. The Professional Shipping Programme is intended to prepare candidates to take the Professional Qualifying Examinations (http://www.ics.org.uk/html/PQE.htm), while the Foundation Shipping Programme is suited for candidates taking the Foundation Diploma (http://www.ics.org.uk/html/foundation_diploma.htm).

Both qualifications are conferred by ICS and are the only globally recognised professional qualification in shipping for personnel in all spheres of the shipping industry. Maritime Cluster Fund Course Fee Subsidy (MCF CFS) of up to 60% from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore is available for eligible participants.
