The Institute of Maritime Law 3rd Singapore Short Course is a highly regarded course conducted by the Institute of Maritime Law of University of Southampton in Singapore. 21 delegates from major law firms, active in the field of maritime law, insurance companies and P&I Clubs attended the two-week course which provided intensive study on various aspects of maritime law and the way they interlink with one another and operate in the wider commercial context.
The comprehensive course concluded with a farewell course dinner sponsored by Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF). Held at Hilton Hotel, on 26 May 2011, the dinner commenced with addresses from Professor Michail Tsimplis, Professor of Law and Ocean Science, Institute of Maritime Law and Dato’ Jude P Benny, MPA Board Member and Managing Partner of JTJB LLP. The Honourable, Justice Steven Chong of the Supreme Court Singapore, graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour and presented certificates to delegates who have successfully completed the course.
