On 28 April 2009, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) hosted a special appreciation dinner reception for the outgoing Chief Executive of MPA, BG (NS) Tay Lim Heng.
Over 65 leaders from the maritime community were present to bid a fond farewell to this special maritime professional.
With light-hearted speeches and well-wishes, the chemistry that BG (NS) Tay shared with the maritime leaders was obvious. Though the man himself has left the sector to undertake his new position as the Deputy Secretary for the Ministry of National Development, the friendships and rapport that he has established over the years will be here to stay.
