On 26 July 2010, Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) hosted a reception at Insomnia@CHIJMES for the third graduating cohort of the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Maritime Studies and Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Maritime Studies with Business Major degree programmes of Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
This reception was hosted by MaritimeONE to congratulate these 62 graduands on and to welcome them to the big maritime community. In his speech, SMF Chairman, Mr Michael Chia, applauded the graduands for their hard work and cited personal experiences to encourage students to pursue their long-term careers in this sector.
Special mention was given to three of the graduates, Yongjie, Terry and Francis, who are SMF and MaritimeONE scholars. Yongjie was also awarded the prestigious Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship and would continue his post graduate studies in NTU.
SMF hereby extends our heartiest congratulations to these fresh graduates and we look forward to their contributions to the Singapore maritime industry.
