The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) hosted the Maritime Law+Practice 2010 Farewell Dinner on 27 May 2010 held at Orchard Parade Hotel. The dinner concluded the end of the 2-week course by The Institute of Maritime Law, University of Southampton, which was attended by delegates from major law firms in maritime law, insurers and P&I Clubs from around the region. This year’s course saw an increment of about 30% in participation rate.
The dinner was hosted by Ms Wendy Loo, Deputy Director, ICD, MPA who gave a delightful and warm welcome speech to the delegates. The dinner was graced by Guest Speaker Mr Karl-Johan Gombrii, President of Comité Maritime International (CMI) and Professor Michail Tsimplis, Professor in Law and Ocean Sciences from the University of Southampton who both gave an address to the attendees. Professor Michail Tsimplis presented the certificates for the completion of the course to the course attendees.
