The MaritimeONE Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held on 12 August 2011, at the Singapore Flyer. 34 bright and talented young people were awarded the prestigious MaritimeONE scholarships, a unique scholarship programme that is strongly supported by the maritime community and key players in the sector. These scholarships are estimated to cost close to one million dollars.
The event also saw seven scholarships under the Tripartite Maritime Scholarship Scheme (TMSS) and the Seafaring Alternative…An Investment For Life (SAIL) scholarship scheme being awarded. These scholarships are jointly sponsored by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), seafarer unions and shipping companies.
On the government front, MPA and the Ministry of Transport held their joint scholarship award ceremony on 29 July 2011 and gave out ten maritime-related scholarships, valued at approximately 1.4 million dollars. |
