On 6 August 2010, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) organised a learning journey for MaritimeONE and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) scholars to visit some of the highly out-of-bound facilities at Keppel Logistics.
19 scholars had the opportunity to learn about the mechanism behind the state-of-art Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) warehousing and visit dedicated temperature-controlled storages, which can be set to as low as -28 Degree Celsius!
Scholars also interacted with the representatives of Keppel Logistics and gained a clearer perspective on the everyday workings of a logistics solutions provider. All scholars reflected that this learning journey provided them with a better understanding and appreciation of the mechanism behind one of Singapore's largest 'one-stop' logistics solutions providers.
