The 3rd Maritime Lecture Speaker Series, Shipping- The Business of Bringing You the World was held on 17 September 2009 at Concorde Hotel.
Prominent maritime leaders such as Mr Kenichi Kuroya, then Chairman of “K” Line Pte Ltd, Mr Julian Hung, Head of Pinguino Research and Mr Wong Hong Lee, Manager of Sales and Purchase of Island Shipbrokers presented enlightening topics that shed some light on the trends and challenges in the ship-owning business and the major causes of disputes in the ship chartering business. The three speakers generously shared their work experiences in their respective maritime companies. They also gave the audience a sense of the magnitude of the global maritime scene and the career opportunities that lie within for young people.
The seminar was well-attended by 280 students from various institutes of higher learning. Many posed thought-provoking questions to the panel of speakers during the lively Q&A session.
