Singapore Pavilion at Posidonia 2010
 

Together with the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI), SMF led 15 Singapore companies as part of the Singapore Pavilion to the mega-maritime show, Posidonia 2010 in Athens, Greece. The 22nd staging of this event was held in Hellenikon Exhibition Centre from 7 to 11 June 2010.

Exhibitors included leading Singapore maritime companies such as Sembcorp Marine Ltd, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd and Ecospec Global Technology Pte Ltd, Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP amongst others. The successful staging of the Singapore Pavilion showcased the diverse maritime capabilities of Singapore to the global maritime players and strengthened the branding of Singapore as a leading International Maritime Centre (IMC). The Singapore Pavilion has expanded from 220. 5 square metres in 2008 to 259 square metres this year.

The Guest-of-Honour for the Posidonia show, Mrs Louka Katseli, Greece Minister for Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping officiated the opening ceremony of the Singapore Pavilion with His Excellency Philip Eng, Ambassdor to Greece and Mr Lam Yi Young, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore with a simple ribbon cutting ceremony during her tour of the exhibition hall. Other significant visits by delegations to the Singapore Pavilion include the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS), led by UGS President Mr Theodore Veniamis and Mr Ricardo Martinelli, President of Panama.
