On 25 March 2010, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) organised the
first Learning Journey for MaritimeONE scholars and students to visit some
of the highly out-of-bound premises of Maritime and Port Authority of
Singapore (MPA) and PSA. The participants which comprised 24 MaritimeONE
scholars and students and 10 MPA scholars gained a better understanding of
the maritime operations carried out in the Port Operation Control Centre 2
(POCC2) and the Pasir Panjang Terminal. The Learning Journey gave these
student participants a clearer perspective on the everyday workings of each
maritime organisation,
and provided them with a better understanding and appreciation of the
Singapore maritime industry as a whole.
