Singapore Reception
The "Singapore Nite" evening reception was held on June 8, 2005 at the Hotel Continental in the Oslo city centre. Mr Svein Aaser, Singapore's Honorary Consul-General to Norway (Oslo) and the Group Chief Executive of DnB Nor Bank, co-hosted the function with SMF. The reception was held in honour of MOS, Mrs Lim. Besides seeking to raise the profile of Singapore, the purpose of organising this reception was to provide the participating companies a platform to network with major maritime players, business associates and potential clients, many of whom would be the senior management of maritime organisations from Europe and Asia.
Nor-Shipping Conference
Nor-Shipping teamed up with a few organisations and publications to introduce a new conference format this year. Conferences were held throughout all four days of Nor-Shipping, with different sessions focusing on various themes.
The opening conference featured keynote addresses by some leading maritime executives. MOS Mrs Lim, one of the speakers at the opening conference, touched on "Growth of Asian Shipping". Other well-known speakers included Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao, Managing Director of World-Wide Shipping; Mr Bjorn Moller, Director, President and CEO of Teekay Shipping; and Mr Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, Chairman of Wilh Wilhemsen.
