Key figures of the global shipping community converged in Greece for the bi-annual Posidonia held at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre from 2 to 6 June 2008. The Singapore delegation, led by Mr Philip Eng, Ambassador to Greece, comprises 15 home-grown world class companies including Keppel Offshore & Marine, Sembcorp Marine, Singapore Technologies Marine amongst others.
The Singapore Pavilion showcased Singapore’s multi-faceted maritime clusters and our diverse capabilities ranging from marine engineering, maritime legal services to shipbuilding and ship management. The Singapore Pavilion was spearheaded by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), in partnership with Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI). The Singapore Pavilion hosted important figures such as Mr Kostas Karamanlis, Prime Minister of Greece, and Mr George A. Voulgarakis, Minister of Mercantile Marine, the Aegean and Island Policy (Greece). A delegation from the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS) also paid a visit.
The Singapore Pavilion was supported by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and International Enterprise (IE) Singapore.
