Sea Asia

Sea Asia Conference and Exhibition, Singapore’s iconic maritime mega-event, highlights Asia’s pivotal role in the global shipping world.

Co-organised by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and Seatrade, Sea Asia capitalises on Singapore’s position as a leading International Maritime Centre (IMC) and Asia’s vibrant shipping community.

Maritime trade in Asia Pacific is estimated at more than US$100 billion, with Asian shipowners and managers accounting for at least 40 per cent of the global shipping tonnage. In addition, twelve of the world’s top 20 container lines and more than half of all seafarers are Asian.

Through Sea Asia in Singapore, Asia’s rapidly expanding shipping community now has the ideal platform to voice its views to the world.

Sea Asia 2011 is a truly iconic maritime show that epitomises the camaradie and strong tripartite partnership between the organisers, SMF and Seatrade, the key maritime players and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Through this show, we hope to elevate Singapore’s status as a leading international maritime centre and make Singapore the focal point for maritime leaders to discuss pertinent issues and challenges faced by the maritime industry, in particular, that of Asia,” said Michael Chia, Chairman of Singapore Maritime Foundation.

Singapore, with its long and proud maritime heritage, is the perfect global arena for the voice of Asian shipping to be heard. As a premier International Maritime Centre, the Lion City pulsates to the heartbeat of the global shipping world. Sitting at the nexus of the world’s major trade routes, this island nation has become the hub port not only for ships but the maritime community as a whole.

All these make Singapore and Sea Asia the perfect platform for the industry to exchange ideas, network and grow new business opportunities.

SMF’s flagship event, Sea Asia 2011 will be held from 12 to 14 April 2011.
