SMF New Year Conversations: Building a Stronger Maritime Singapore Together

In 2021, the annual SMF New Year Cocktail Reception was replaced with a virtual event, SMF New Year Conversations: Building a Stronger Maritime Singapore Together.

The webinar commenced with an opening address by Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao, Chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF), followed by an announcement on Singapore’s maritime performance in 2020 by our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport.

Subsequently, there was a panel discussion on the topic of “Building Maritime Singapore’s Sustainable Future”. Invited panellists included Mr Simon Kuik, President of the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI), Ms Quah Ley Hoon, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Ms Caroline Yang, President of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA). The session was moderated by Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao, Chairman of SMF.
