Bringing to life the decarbonisation and electrification challenges faced by Maritime Singapore, the 𝗡𝗨𝗦-𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 took place from 20-29 January and saw the participation of nearly 520 registered students from 157 teams across various secondary and tertiary institutions.
Integrating complex data sets provided by Spire, teams had to evaluate GHG emissions at Singapore ports when vessels are at berths or terminals, and also assess the effectiveness of electric vessels in reducing emissions.
Congratulations to the prizewinners who have demonstrated innovative and critical thinking to conceive top-tier solutions:
Huge appreciation to National University of Singapore Centre for Maritime Studies and RightShip for hosting this competition and inviting us onboard as a strategic partner. Many thanks as well to Databricks and Microsoft for equipping the students with useful skills to tackle the problem statements.
