Singapore Maritime Dialogue 2019

This year, the Singapore Maritime Dialogue 2019 was graced by Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Health. Themed “Maritime Singapore in the Age of Digitalisation”, the sharing sessions and panel discussion allowed participants to understand the importance of digitalisation in the maritime industry and beyond. Maritime Experiential Programme 2018

The Maritime Experiential Programme (MEP) is a programme organized specially for secondary school students. During the MEP, students will be brought on learning journeys to interesting maritime locations in Singapore to broaden their perspectives on maritime operations and learn more about the industry. Organized twice a year, the event aims to generate interest by creating a unique and personalised experience for the students.

MaritimeONE Scholarship Awards Ceremony 2018

As part of the maritime industry’s efforts to develop the pipeline of talent into the industry, the Government, maritime businesses and local seafarer unions presented close to S$1.9 million in maritime scholarships to 49 students at the MaritimeONE Scholarship Award Ceremony 2018. This year, a total of 26 companies pledged their commitment to MaritimeONE scholarships valued at over S$770,000. A total of 34 MaritimeONE scholarships were awarded at the MaritimeONE Scholarship Awards Ceremony 2018.

Singapore Maritime Dialogue 2017

The 4th Singapore Maritime Dialogue was held on 5th July at the PSA Auditorium with over 190 tertiary level students and teachers from ITEs, Polytechnics, JCs and Universities in attendance. Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Health graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour. This year, an Economics Essay Competition was held in collaboration with the Economics Society of Singapore (ESS), and was a lead-up event to increase students’ exposure to maritime-related topics.

Maritime Experiential Programme 2017

The Maritime Experiential Programme, organised exclusively for secondary school students, aims to raise awareness and instil interest in students to consider a maritime education or career by immersing them through learning journeys to maritime related places in Singapore. Three sessions were held during the May installation with over 150 Secondary School students and teachers from 4 institutions. They were brought on educational tours to various shipyards and port terminals and through these tours, students were given the rare opportunity to witness the maritime operations up close and personal.
